There are a lot of ways to hide files on your computer. Some of them, such as disk images, are somewhat complicated or too restrained. Well, I'm going to introduce you to a new way of hiding items: .RTFD files.
An RTFD file is an RTF file with attachments. (These attachments could be pictures or other stuff.) However, you don't need to make a proper .RTFD file to hide items in it. Because an .RTFD extension is recognized by Mac OS X as a file, you can just rename a folder to "folder_name.rtfd" and it will turn into a file with hidden contents.
Once your folder has an .RTFD extension, you can right click on it and select, "Show Package Contents" to see your hidden files.
