The Solution To the Stubborn Dock

I prefer to have my dock be hidden because I don't use it all that much and having it show is a waste of good screen real estate. However, sometimes, for no apparent reason, my dock won't reveal itself when I mouse over it. This usually happens when I'm dragging something.

If you also run into this problem, then the solution is near at hand: Cmd-Option-D.

This keyboard shortcut is the universal shortcut for turning on and off dock hiding.

You can also use it for other stuff, such as quickly seeing how many windows you have minimized or which apps you have open. (Although, for that, you could just use Cmd-Tab.)
