Leopard: RSS Feeds in Leopard Mail

If you currently don't have a RSS reader, (you can read a short article about RSS here) you might want to consider using the new apple mail. While Safari can do RSS, I find that mail is very handy for RSS reading. My reasons for this are:

1: You can use RSS articles like you would mail messages.
2: I always have Mail open anyway.
3: It is on the left hand side of the screen using space that isn't being used anyway.

With this in mind, today's tip is two-fold.

• How to enable Leopard Mail RSS
• How to easily make it so that your RSS articles of a certain blog are seen in your inbox.

It really isn't that hard to enable RSS in Leopard mail. All you have to do is go to Safari and hit Cmd-, to open the preferences. Once there, click on the RSS pref-pane and change the "RSS Reader" drop-down menu to Mail.app. Once you've done this, go to Mail and click on File>Add RSS Feeds... (near the bottom of the menu.) Then, brows the Safari bookmarks looking for the ones you want. After importing, you can now read all your feeds in Mail.

To make a feed appear in your unread count/inbox, all you have to do is select it on the left-hand draw. Then, click on the arrow. If it is not currently in your inbox, it will now appear there. If it is currently in your inbox, this will make it go back to the Feeds section.

Well, that's all for now! I hope you enjoyed the tip!
